I wheelie like you! One Direction's Zayn Malik and Little Mix's Perrie Edwards go public with their relationship as they mess around on a scooter

They were a match made in reality TV heaven after they began dating late last year following a brief meeting on X Factor.

But their love failed to blossom and they ended up splitting up to concentrate on their budding music careers.

However, One Direction's Zayn Malik and Little Mix's Perrie Edwards are officially boyfriend and girlfriend - again.

The cute young couple were both heading in the same direction as they made their feelings for each other crystal clear.

The pair shared a few very public tender moments together after having spent the night with each other before Zayn jetted off to America to begin a lengthy stint on tour with One Direction.

Perrie, 18, said bon voyage to her dark haired stud by planting a long lingering kiss on his lips and affectionately hugged him tightly.

They also spent some time messing around on a motorised scooter as they whizzed around on two wheels.

Zayn, 19, looked like a true rock star in a pair of tight fitting black jeans which he teamed with a blue denim jacket and a white T-shirt.

Perrie was dressed casually in blue jeans and a pink blouse with a leather jacket.

Zayn enjoyed a crafty cigarette while he waited for band-mates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne to pick him up.

A source told The Sun newspaper: 'So they’ve spent months getting to know each other to make sure they were on track before they went public.'

They added: 'It was a very sweet farewell. They hugged, snogged and mucked about on a scooter while they were waiting for Zayn to be picked up. He was giving her lifts along the road.'

It is thought that the duo have been dating since February but were unsure their relationship could work because of the pressures and travel involved in their work.

But they have now decided they like each other too much not to be together, and feel ready to go public with their romance.

Zayn, who came third in The X Factor with One Direction in 2011, and Perrie, who won the TV talent show last year with girl-band Little Mix, reportedly shared a kiss backstage when the boy-band appeared on the show in December 2011.

They apparently began dating in February when Zayn - who previously dated X Factor's Rebecca Ferguson - returned from a promotional tour of the US.

Their romance has not come without problems, however, as jealous One Direction fans forced Perrie to shut down her Twitter account after sending her hate-filled messages.

But it has since been reported that she closed her account because her management want Little Mix to share one Twitter account.

When speaking to Yahoo! omg! Malik was keen to offer his girlfriend advice on how to handle her career.

He said: 'Obviously I see Perrie quite a bit and the only piece of advice I can give her is to just work hard and hope for the best.

'That’s what we did and there’s pretty much all there is to it. And be nice to people.'
